New Speakers Moving Dialogues: Irish and Gaelic young adults’ pragmatic profiles

RESEARCH IN MORE DETAIL
We are looking at pragmatic abilities in young adults fluent speakers of a minority language. Are young adults learning Irish or Gaelic at school competent in pragmatics on both languages? Is their pragmatic ability affected by the bilingual experience? Is there an effect of modality, with understanding but not productive use of pragmatic in the minority language? Is there an effect of being a New Speaker of the Language vs. an Home Speaker?
